Ponting claimed that \u201csevere pains in the chest\u201d forced him to seek medical attention as a precaution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI probably scared a lot of people yesterday and had a scary moment for myself,\u201d Ponting told Channel Seven on Saturday morning (December 3). \u201cI was sitting in the commentary box halfway through the stint and got a couple of really short and sharp pains to my chest. I tried to stretch it out and get rid of it, and probably didn\u2019t want to give too much away when I was on air,\u201d Pointing continued.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Ricky Ponting was taken to the hospital after experiencing a medical problem (heart) while commentating on day three of Australia\u2019s maiden test match against the West Indies at Perth Stadium on December 2nd.
