Rehan Ahmed, an 18-year-old leg spinner, has been called up to the England Test squad ahead of their three-match series against Pakistan. If he plays, he will be the country\u2019s youngest-ever Test player. It has been a spectacular journey from nicking off Ben Stokes in the nets at age 11 to getting his first first-class century in his third game.<\/p>\n
In order to help England prepare for their Test match against Pakistan, Ahmed first caught their eye when he was just 11 years old and working as a net bowler. Ahmed found himself bowling to Stokes at Lord\u2019s a month before his 12th birthday thanks to both his talent and England\u2019s dire need for leg-spinners.<\/p>\n

Ahmed joined side England for the clash against\u00a0Pakistan with Brendon McCullum\u2019s test side\u00a0after posting figures of 0-73 off eight overs for the England Lions in the warm-up match against the Test match participants. Brian Close, who made his Test debut in 1949 at the age of 18 years and 149 days, currently holds the record for England\u2019s youngest cricketer.
