The All-India Senior Selection Committee has announced separate squads for the upcoming tours against New Zealand. The NZ series for the ODI format will be led by Shikhar Dhawan, while the T20 series has shocked the fans after Team India witnessed Hardik Pandya leading the team. India\u2019s Test and ODI teams for the December tour of Bangladesh have also been announced by the BCCI. Between December 4 and December 26, the two teams will play three one-day internationals and two test matches. Given their standing in the current World Test Championship cycle and their need to go to the final, India must win the Test series.<\/p>\n
When asked why Dinesh Karthik was not selected for the T20I team, chairman of selectors Chetan Sharma cited workload management as the cause. The other members of the T20 World Cup squad who won\u2019t be playing in the T20 Internationals against New Zealand are Mohammed Shami, R Ashwin, and Axar Patel.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is not like that,\u201d said Sharma when asked if India was planning on moving on towards finding other finishers in the T20I setup. \u201cThe World Cup is still happening. It is basically on the load management that we are looking at, who to rest and who not to. Dinesh Karthik, the way he came in the side and the way he performed, he\u2019s always available for the selectors.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n \u201cIt\u2019s just that there are T20I games immediately after the World Cup, the thinking is just to try a different set of players. Otherwise the doors are open for him, he\u2019s a brilliant player, there\u2019s no problem at all,\u201d he said.
