He reflected on Rohit\u2019s influence not just as a player, but also as a leader who has inspired countless young cricketers over the years.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jitesh revealed that his admiration for Rohit dates back to his childhood. \u201cI used to support Mumbai Indians because of Rohit Sharma, earlier it was Deccan Chargers, their jersey and logo were so good,\u201d he said. The remark highlights a full-circle journey for Jitesh, who grew up cheering for IPL teams and now shares the field with players he once idolised.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking about Rohit\u2019s presence on the field, Jitesh described it as \u201ceffortless,\u201d Rohit sets benchmarks not just through his performances, but also through his calm attitude and leadership qualities. Jitesh also shared how Rohit\u2019s guidance has shaped his understanding of batting, Rohit once advised him on balancing power and timing, especially while facing high pace. Against deliveries exceeding 140 kmph, timing becomes crucial to find the middle of the bat and execute quality shots. Jitesh noted that while many batters struggle at such speeds, Rohit\u2019s ability to handle pace with ease stood out, offering valuable lessons on controlled aggression and technique.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jitesh also reflected on his own journey in the IPL. He was part of the Mumbai Indians squad in 2016 and 2017, signed at his base price of \u20b910 lakh, though he did not make his debut then. From those early days to becoming a key finisher for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, his growth has been significant. In IPL 2025, Jitesh played a crucial role as a finisher, scoring 261 runs in 15 matches at an average of 37.29 and an impressive strike rate of 176.35, helping his team to get a title after 18 years.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma\u2019s impact in the IPL remains immense. In the 2025 season, he scored 418 runs in 15 matches at a strike rate of 149, often playing as an Impact Player. With over 7,000 IPL runs, he stands among the league\u2019s all-time greats, just behind Virat Kohli.<\/span><\/p>\n
