The Indian Wonen\u2019s Team Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur defended and backed her team mate Deepti Sharma\u2019s controversial runout of Charlie Dean at the non strikers end which sealed the team a promising win.<\/p>\n
With the 10th wicket playing for England, Charlotte Dean (47) and Freya Davies (10*)were chasing quite a low target of 163 set by the Indian team.<\/p>\n
However, the turn of events became controversial at the the Lord\u2019s stadium just after Deepti Sharma dismissed the non striker Dean which is considered in the \u2018Unfair Play\u2019 section of the law which is supposed to moved to \u2018Run Out\u2019 section in the updates ICC playing conditions coming into effect from 1st October 2022.<\/p>\n
Kaur was asked about the dismissal in the post match presentation ceremony. The skipper made sure to protect Deepika at all cost bringing the noise down about the controversy. She clearly stated Deepti hasn\u2019t done something which is outside the rules.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s part of the game I don\u2019t think we have done something new. It shows your awareness, what batters are doing. I will back my players, she hasn\u2019t done something outside the rules. At the end of the day a win is a win and we will take that.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
She was also disappointed that the press didn\u2019t appreciate the win and the team\u2019s effort to take down tough English batters and defend such a low score.<\/p>\n
