Ben Stokes, the Test captain for England, spoke candidly about his issues with mental health and his use of anxiety medications. Stokes discussed it in an amazon documentary, saying he kept taking the medications even after he returned from a six-month break from the sport last year to concentrate on his mental health.<\/p>\n
\u201cI never thought I would be on medication to help me for that kind of stuff [anxiety]. I am not embarrassed or ashamed to say it because I needed the help at the time,\u201d Stokes said in an Amazon documentary. \u201cBut it\u2019s not done just because I\u2019m back playing. I still speak to the doc, not as regularly, and I\u2019m still taking medication every day. It\u2019s an ongoing process.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI find sometimes people are a bit nervous to go into the detail about that kind of stuff with me. It\u2019s perceived you can\u2019t feel a certain way \u2013 that\u2019s a sign of weakness to show that you are not mentally feeling great,\u201d he said. \u201cPeople think they can\u2019t ask people who have struggled.
