In the fifth Test against England<\/a>, Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant<\/a> scored a stunning century. He was playing at his very best. The left-handed wicket-keeper batsman drove the English bowlers into the dirt and helped the Indian team escape a crisis. In just 89 balls, he accomplished the feat, he\u00a0smashed 15 boundaries and 1 six during his knock.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old surpassed MS Dhoni<\/a>\u2018s 2006 mark of 93 balls for a century against Pakistan.<\/p>\n

At 71\/4, Pant entered the batting order when India was in terrible trouble and went on to make a spectacular century, setting off raucous celebrations at the stadium.<\/p>\n

He broke multiple records by scoring a century, including the fastest test century at Edgbaston, the fastest test century by an Indian wicket keeper, and the second fastest test century for India in England.<\/p>\n

Despite being in excellent form, Pant was caught by Zak Crawley<\/a> after Joe Root<\/a>\u2018s delivery knocked him out for 146 runs off 111 balls.<\/p>\n

At the age of 24, Pant became the youngest cricketer from India to hit 100 sixes in international matches. The captain of the Delhi Capitals hit a maximum off Jack Leach\u2019s over to get his 100th six.<\/p>\n

Ben Stokes<\/a> won the toss and decided to bat first for Team India, serving as Jasprit Bumrah<\/a>\u2018s first captain. Before play was stopped by rain, James Anderson bowled two excellent new-ball spells that cost India its openers Shubman Gill<\/a> and Cheteshwar Pujara.<\/a><\/p>\n
