The fifth and final T20 International between India and South Africa<\/a> ended in a letdown as play was called off due to persistent rain at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore on Sunday (June 19). The game was eventually called off because no play could be completed within the allotted time.<\/p>\n

For his outstanding performance in the series, India\u2019s Bhuvaneshwar Kumar<\/a> has been awarded \u2018player of the series.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cReally proud. Body feels good, but I don\u2019t want to talk much about it. Just want to focus on getting stronger physically and with my bowling. Most of the times I bowl two at the top and two at the end. Being a senior, I think about how to help the youngsters,\u201d said Bhuvneshwar while receiving the award during the post match presentation ceremony.<\/p>\n

In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah<\/a> and Mohammed Shami<\/a>, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has done an outstanding job spearheading India\u2019s pace attack against South Africa.<\/p>\n

Bhuvaneshwar made a strong comeback in the home series against the West Indies and Sri Lanka, and he has maintained that form into the T20Is against South Africa. In three games, the right-arm seamer has taken six wickets and has appeared the best bowler on display in the powerplay at an average of 14.16, an economy rate of 6.07 and a strike rate of 14 to win his second series award in T20Is.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
