The battle between India and South Africa<\/a> has always been exciting to watch. Both sides have outstanding players with remarkable statistics. Let\u2019s have a look at how the top five batsmen in one-day internationals stack up against one other.<\/p>\n

1. Sachin Tendulkar \u2013 2001 runs<\/h3>\n

In South Africa, the Indian cricket star Sachin Tendulkar<\/a> has by far the most ODI runs. Sachin has 1453 runs to his record, and no other Indian player has ever scored higher. From 1991 until 2011, he was a part of the IND vs SA battle, scoring 2001 runs against the Protean squad. He has scored 1453 runs in South Africa alone out of those totals.<\/p>\n

2. Jacques Kallis \u2013 1535 runs<\/h3>\n

Jacques Kallis of South Africa is the second highest run scorer in the bilateral series against India, only after Tendulkar, with 1535 ODI runs at an average of 61.40.<\/p>\n

3. Virat Kohli \u2013 1403 runs<\/h3>\n

Virat Kohli<\/a> is now the third highest run-scorer in the ODIs between India and South Africa. Virat has 1403 runs in 28 innings against the proteas, with an average of 61.00 and an 85.91 strike rate. He has four hundreds and eight half-centuries under his credit.<\/p>\n

In the first three games of the 2018\u00a0series, Kohi has scored 318 runs. That\u2019s the most an Indian has ever scored against South Africa in a series.<\/p>\n

He is the first Indian batsman to score more than\u00a0a century in a series against South Africa, and only the fifth overall.<\/p>\n

In an ODI against South Africa, his 160 not out seems to be the second highest score by an Indian batsman. Sachin Tendulkar\u2019s legendary 200 in 2010 is the highest. After David Warner\u2019s 173 in 2016 and Ricky Ponting\u2019s 164 in 2006, it is also the third highest total by any batter against South Africa in South Africa.<\/p>\n

Kohli ran for 100 of the 160 runs he scored. He hit 75 singles for 75 runs, 11 doubles for 22 runs, and one three straight drive (3 runs). Only four other batters in ODI history have scored more than 100 runs, and he is the first Indian to accomplish it. Gary Kristen is the second most successful proteas batsman against India in one-day internationals. With a 62.59 batting average, he has 1377 runs in 26 innings. He has nine half centuries and four hundreds during 1995 \u2013 2001.<\/p>\n

AB de Villiers \u2013 1357 runs<\/h3>\n

AB de Villiers<\/a> is without a doubt one of the greatest South African players of all time. Between 2005 and 2018, he played 32 ODI\u00a0matches against India, scoring 1357 runs at an average of 48.46 and a strike rate of 111.13.
