After which the ICC took action and the match referee described the pitch as \u2018below average.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The ICC has been trying to make Test matches exciting and for this reason, Day-Night pink ball matches have started in Test cricket as well. The ICC has also started the \u2018World Test Championship\u2019 to promote the Test format and ICC is constantly trying to engage the audience with the Test matches and promote this format as much as possible.<\/p>\n<p>In the first test match played between Pakistan and Australia, along with the experts, the spectators also called the pitch very bad for the bowlers and criticized Rawalpindi\u2019s pitch. Despite 5 days of play in Rawalpindi, no result came out and the match was quite boring in terms of spectators.<\/p>\n<p>The Emirates ICC Elite Panel match referee Ranjan Madugalle rated Rawalpindi\u2019s pitch and termed the pitch as a \u2018below-average\u2019. Ranjan Madugalle also gave one demerit point to this pitch in Rawalpindi under the pitch and outfield monitoring process.<\/p>\n<p>Ranjan Madugalle said that \u201cthe nature of the pitch remained the same for the five days and the pitch was more favorable for the batters. There was not much help for both the spin and the fast bowler in the middle, due to which the batsmen dominated in this match.
