The two-match Test series between India and Sri Lanka is going to start from March 4. Earlier, the team\u2019s vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah has given a big update on the fitness of star off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.<\/p>\n
Bumrah said that Ashwin is recovering well from his injury and he looked fit during practice ahead of the Test series.<\/p>\n
R Ashwin missed the limited overs series against West Indies and Sri Lanka due to injury. The first Test between India and Sri Lanka will be played from March 4 at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. Ashwin is batting, bowling and fielding<\/p>\n
In the press conference from Mohali Test, Bumrah said as reported by Crictracker, \u201cTest team has already reached here (Mohali) and is practicing. Ashwin has recovered from injury. I don\u2019t know if they have any problem now. He looked fit in the practice session. He practiced bowling, batting and fielding. So I think he is in good shape.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jasprit Bumrah has been made the vice-captain of the team for the Sri Lanka Test series. According to the fast bowler, being a senior player, you have to help fellow players. I have said earlier also that the vice-captaincy is only a position.<\/p>\n
\u201cI will try to give my best in any capacity. I don\u2019t think any position should matter or a bowler or a batsman will make a difference, it depends on how you deal with situations and how strong you are strategically,\u201d he further added.<\/p>\n
