CSA\u2019s director of cricket, Graeme Smith, has confirmed that The Australia test series which was to happen in South Africa last year has been rescheduled to August 2023. This is the first time South Africa is hosting a tour in August after the Test series against New Zealand, held in 2016 in Centurion and Durban. The Chief Executive of Cricket Australia, Nick Hockley, has previously also hinted about Australia\u2019s South Africa tour in 2023.<\/p>\n
ESPNcricinfo reported that the three-match ODI series against England, which had to happen in 2020 December and was postponed due to the pandemic, is scheduled to take place in 2022 winters.
\nDuring South Africa\u2019s finale Test against India in Capetown, Graeme Smith said in an interview held by the host broadcaster, SuperSport, \u201cEngland, I think, is around Feb-March next year and then Australia is in August 2023 to replace the [Test series postponed in 2021]. That will be announced sometime soon.\u201d<\/p>\n
He also mentioned about, the board\u2019s challenges trying to fit the Series in the CSA\u2019s calendar, with eight ICC events held in eight years and IPL getting extended. He also stated, \u201cOur team \u2013 both men and women \u2013 needs to be performing well and be recognized, and people want to play us. But we need to make sure when things are happening in world cricket South Africa is at the forefront.\u201d<\/p>\n
