Indian cricket team\u2019s batting coach Vikram Rathour feels that the score the Indian team made in their first innings was low and thinks that the team could have scored some more runs which would be a great challenge for the South African batsmen. Virat Kohli\u2019s men were bowled out on 223 runs as South Africa\u2019s star bowler Kagiso Rabada took 4 whereas pacer Marco Jansen took 3 wickets. It was a brilliant bowling performance from the host as they really didn\u2019t let any Indian batsman stay in the crease for long except skipper Virat Kohli.<\/p>\n
The Indian Test cricket captain was the standout performer for the visitors as he scored 79 runs and he was the only one for India who get past 50-run mark. Ajinkya Rahane disappointed again as his poor form continues. The former vice-captain of the Indian Test team scored only 9 runs and was shown the way back to pavilion by South Africa\u2019s pacer named Kagiso Rabada.<\/p>\n
Indian team kept losing wickets in quick succession which gave South Africa the chance to have a bat in their hand on the first day itself. Seeing India\u2019s batting performance, batting coach Vikram Rathour was disappointed as he wanted Indian team to stay longer in the crease. He feels that the team could have scored 50-60 more runs but they were bowled out on 223 which is not a great score according to him.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese are challenging conditions, not easy conditions to score runs in, but we are below par. We could have scored 50\/60 more runs, that\u2019s what we were at least expecting,\u201d said batting coach Vikram Rathour at the post day media interaction as reported by Hindustan Times.<\/p>\n
