South African all-rounder Chris Morris decides to quit cricket in all forms and announces his retirement on Tuesday, 11 January. Chris on 27th October 2021 quoted the fact that his days of playing for his country was over, and was concentrating on domestic and shorter format leagues since then. \u201cThey know where I stand, I know where I stand, but my days are done for CSA, I think they know that,\u201d Morris told the reporters of Sportskeeda. Chris quotes that the journey of 10 years was a fun ride, and supposedly had an idea where he stood with his contribution for the respective teams he played for. Not only was he a quicky seamer, but also classified himself to be a good finisher down the line.<\/p>\n
Debuted in 2012, Chris has contributed in 4 Tests, 42 ODIs and 23 T20s for South Africa, with ODI against Australia in 2019 being his last international game. Not only internationally but also in domestic cricket, Chris has been one of the biggest names across, specifically talking about the Indian Premier League. Chris, in 2021 became the most expensive player in IPL, who was bought by Rajasthan Royals for INR 16.25 crore. Sanju Samson in an interview revealed that Chris was a \u201csuperstar\u201d for Rajasthan Royals. With a strike rate of over 155 and 95 wickets in total, Chris proved his importance in IPL, as well as showed his fierce form in shorter formats of the game.<\/p>\n
During his retirement announcement, Chris reveals to stay around what he loves, and decides to take a coaching role for the domestic team \u201cTitans\u201d.
