It was a pretty dominant performance by the Kangaroos as they were exceptional with bat and ball. The match ended on Saturday morning after Australians were put to bat by the English players for the target of only 20 runs. The first Test didn’t went well for England as they weren’t good enough to beat Pat Cummins’ men. Under all-rounder Pat Cummins’ captaincy, Australia was brutal against the English players.

The only thing in England’s favor was the toss. After they chose to bat, the Kangaroos’ bowlers were so brilliant that they didn’t let any batsman stay on the crease for long. The England batting line-up was demolished by the Australian bowlers and they could only reach the score of 147. After an amazing bowling performance, the Australians did the same with bats in their hands. They scored a mammoth 425 runs in their first innings. Travis Head’s 152 and opener David Warner’s 95 runs innings proved to be very crucial which made their lead so massive that England now had no chance but to bat exceptionally well to win or draw this match. But England’s batting line-up succumbed again and the Australians stopped them at the score of 297.

A near-complete performance from Australia sees them take a one-nil lead in the series #Ashes

— cricket.com.au (@cricketcomau) December 11, 2021

Now, it was more than easy for Australia to win this Test-match as they only had a target of 20 runs. Australian wicketkeeper Alex Carey opened the innings with Marcus Harris instead of their regular opener David Warner. However, the two batsman did the work for Australia and they are now leading the Ashes by 1-0. The second test is scheduled to be played between 16 Decmeber and 20 December at Adelaide Oval stadium. English players will surely be looking to take revenge and equalize the 5 match Test-Series (Ashes) by 1-1.

AUSTRALIA WIN #Ashes pic.twitter.com/RWwDOL1kn6

— cricket.com.au (@cricketcomau) December 11, 2021

Australia won the first Test match after a dominating performance at Gabba.
