According to reports of PTI, Shastri addressed the issue in the post-match presentation. He said that in the post covid world, where stress has amplified due to the bubble factor, it\u2019s only normal to share the burden of captaincy across the format. Shastri said, \u201cI think in Rohit, you have got a very capable guy. He has won so many IPLs. He is the vice-captain of the team; he is already in the wings to take the job.\u201d He further enumerated the fact that this tournament\u2019s performance does not describe the complete picture of the Indian team and that the team will come back strong in the near future. He then addressed the other issues, like the Indian team lacking a backup bowling option with Pandya out with injury, alongside the most frequent question regarding a break between IPL and World Cup.<\/p>\n
Towards the end of the interview, Shastri signed off commenting on his departure from his position.
