The allrounder while suffering from a finger injury had taken an indefinite break from the game to look after his mental wellbeing. In recent days the sight of him being seen bowling in the net had churned several rumours about him being available for the Ashes tour. The news was confirmed a few days later as ECB posted a post on Twitter, confirming the availability of the Durham player.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\"I\u2019m ready for Australia.\"<\/p>\n<p>\ud83c\udde6\ud83c\uddfa <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/AUSvENG?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#AUSvENG<\/a> \ud83c\udff4\udb40\udc67\udb40\udc62\udb40\udc65\udb40\udc6e\udb40\udc67\udb40\udc7f<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 England Cricket (@englandcricket) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/englandcricket\/status\/1452544814654935041?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 25, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had a break to prioritize my mental wellbeing and I got my finger sorted,\u201d Stokes was quoted by ECB. He further added that he was very delighted to finally be able to join his teammates on the field and is looking forward to taking on Australia. The all-rounder has not played any competitive fixture since July the 26<sup>th<\/sup>. He had injured his finger during an IPL match and couldn\u2019t fully recover after his first surgery. This led him to be unavailable for the test series against India, and later was not even considered for the T20 World Cup.<\/p>\n<p>Ashley Giles the managing director of Men\u2019s cricket for England too was quoted by ECB, he said, \u201cfollowing a very successful operation on his finger and several conversations over the last few weeks between Ben and I, our medical staff and his management team, Ben called me to say he was ready to return to cricket.\u201d Giles then expressed how important the involvement of Stokes in the upcoming series is. He is a great all-rounder who can deliver with both the bat and the ball in hand.<\/p>\n<p>England\u2019s touring party will depart on November the 4<sup>th<\/sup> for Australia.
