ICC announced the men\u2019s and women\u2019s player of the month award on Wednesday. Shakib Al Hasan, Bangladeshi all-rounder won the men\u2019s category whereas Stafanie Taylor of West Indies won the women\u2019s category award for July 2021. However, some say there\u2019s no surprise to see Shakib Al Hassan winning this award as he performed very well in July. Bangladesh had a series against Zimbabwe, where Shakib was the stand-out performer.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is very humbling to be voted ICC Men\u2019s Player of the Month for July 2021,\u201d Shakib told ICC. \u201cThere have been many outstanding performances during the month and that is why this is special for me,\u201d he added after being named ICC men\u2019s player of the month.<\/p>\n
Shakib has emerged as one of the greatest all-rounders in recent years. He was also named as the best all-rounder in the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup.\u00a0 He scored two centuries for his country in the World Cup. Bangladeshi scored 145 runs and not only this he also took 8 wickets and helped his team get the series win over Zimbabwe. He was nominated along with Australia\u2019s Mitchell Marsh and West Indies\u2019s Hayden Walsh Jr who also had an amazing July.<\/p>\n
The women\u2019s category has won by West Indies\u2019s captain Stafanie Taylor, who was the stand-out performer in the West Indies\u2019s series against Pakistan. With an amazing strike rate of 79.18, she scored 175 runs in 4 ODI\u2019s. She also showed her class with the ball by taking 3 wickets with an economy of just 3.72 in ODI\u2019s and 4 wickets in T20\u2019s.<\/p>\n
