Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant has sampled positive for the COVID-19 virus just before the five-match Test series against England along with throwdown specialist Dayananda Garani. Both will skip the tour game against Select County XI and won\u2019t travel to Durham as they are quarantined in London.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe is asymptomatic and currently undergoing self-isolation at the place where he reported positive. He is being closely monitored by the BCCI Medical Team and is on his way to recovery. He will be able to join the squad in Durham after returning two negative RT-PCR tests,\u201d said BCCI administrator Jay Shah in a statement.<\/p>\n
Pant will expectedly go through another round of tests on Sunday. Bharat Arun, Wriddhiman Saha and Abhimanyu Easwaran have also been compelled to be singled out. They were in intimate communication with Garani and after his positive result, none of them will be travelling to Durham.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe four personnel will undergo 10-day isolation and will remain in their respective rooms in the team hotel in London,\u201d said Jay Shah.<\/p>\n
A spinner, a pacer and a reserve pacer were among the three players who administered the isolation period before they were opened for the entrance to the biosecure bubble and board the bus to the place where the Indian team will play a tour game in Durham.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne player has tested positive but he had been in isolation for the last eight days. He was not staying in any hotel with the team, so no other player has been affected,\u201d informed Rajiv Shukla the BCCI vice-president to PTI.<\/p>\n
