India on Sunday made history by winning its first ever Thomas Cup in badminton<\/a> after beating Indonesia by 3-0. After reaching their first-ever final. India faced Indonesia, the most successful team in Thomas Cup history, in Bangkok on Sunday.<\/p>\n

India had never reached the final of the Thomas and Uber Cup in its 73-year history, but the Indian men not only broke the drought, but also became only the sixth nation to win the Thomas Cup, joining China, Indonesia, Japan, Denmark, and Malaysia.<\/p>\n

After defeating Indonesia\u2019s Anthony Ginting in the first match, Lakshya Sen gave India a 1-0 lead. Sen came back from an 8-21 deficit in the first set to win the second, before overcoming a four-point deficit in the third.<\/p>\n

Kidambi Srikanth defeated Jonatan Christie in straight games 21-15, 23-21 to help India win. The title without losing a single match. Earlier, Satwiksairaj Rankireddey and Chirag Shetty defeated Mohammad Ahsan and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo 18-21, 23-21, 21-19 to give India a 2-0 lead.<\/p>\n
