India\u2019s top Badminton player, PV Sindhu reaches straight to the finals of Women\u2019s single of the Syed Modi International Badminton Tournament after her opponent, Evgeniya Kosetskaya from Russia retires hurt midway into the Semifinals on Saturday.<\/p>\n
PV Sindhu easily takes off the first game 21-11 before the Russian concedes the second women\u2019s singles semifinals match. Two-time Olympic medallist, Sindhu is now all set to clash against her Compatriot, Malvika Bansod on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Malvika Bansod had defeated her compatriot, Anupama Upadhyaya by 19-21, 21-19, 21-7 at a tough three-game event. For PV Sindhu, It was anticipated of being an easy outing going by form, world ranking, also a head-to-head record.<\/p>\n
PV Sindhu who is currently ranked no.7 by BWF (Badminton World Federation), did defeat Evgeniya Kosetskaya currently ranking no. 28, two times before Saturday\u2019s tie. At the same time, PV Sindhu once again had come on top to expand her superiority record over Evgeniya Kosetskaya.<\/p>\n
The 26-year-old has also won a gold at the 2019 World Championships. She is the first and only Indian to earn the title of Badminton World Champion.
