England might have lost the Test series yet the captain Joe Root feels that the India tour is a building block for the visitors which has made them equipped to face similar extreme situations in the future.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, India defeated England by an innings and 25 runs in the fourth and final Test to win the series 3-1 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.<\/p>\n
After the defeat Joe Root listed out positives which England can take with them from the four-match Test series. Root praised batsman Ben Foakes who displayed some good glovework behind the stumps.<\/p>\n
Root said while replying to a query from ANI, \u201cI think Ben\u2019s keeping in this Test series has been excellent. I think is arguably the best keeper in the world. His glovework was wonderful, he is a fine player. Having said that Jos Buttler is a great experienced player as he has done extremely well in the last year for us. It is great to have a competition in place. As it makes you a better team.\u201d<\/p>\n
Root also said, \u201cAnd talking about the spinners, I think Jack has been brilliant. He has got better and better as the tour progressed and has been a useful and attacking option for us.\u201d<\/p>\n
Root added, \u201cWe had 8-9 weeks of bowling spin and a lot of it and I think that\u2019s a positive for us. Actually for guys in the reserves as well to get the volume of work. In the long run, it can pay huge dividends for England.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI think the guys have to embrace what has happened. There are spots where we can get better. To say the \u2018ball is spinning and skidding on in the extreme conditions, it\u2019s impossible to bat\u2019 that\u2019s the wrong attitude. We should say you know there are areas we can get better at, I mean yes, there are world-class spinners but we can be better,\u201d Root said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m gonna make sure, that if I find myself in a similar condition down the line, we are equipped to deal with that. When we come home and play in our home conditions we are on a completely different side,\u201d Root signed off.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
