Addressing the 141st session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC),Modi conveyed the nation\u2019s excitement to host the global sports spectacle and pledged a dedicated commitment to turn this dream into a reality. If India\u2019s bid would be successful then it will make India the fourth country in Asia to host the grand event.<\/p>\n
Modi also emphasized India\u2019s dedication to organizing the event, echoing the dreams and aspirations of its 1.4 billion citizens.\u201cIndia eagerly anticipates hosting the Olympics and the country will leave no stone unturned in our efforts to organise the 2036 Olympics. It\u2019s a dream and aspiration of 140 crore Indians,\u201d Mr. Modi said.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister talked about the strong link between sports and Indian culture, saying that sports are a crucial part of life. He mentioned various sports programs in India, including Khelo India Games, Khelo India Youth Games, Khelo India Winter Games, and the upcoming Khelo India Para Games.In his address, Modi delved into India\u2019s rich sporting legacy, dating back thousands of years. He emphasized the cultural importance of sports during various historical periods, from the Indus Valley civilization to the Vedic era, quoting scriptures that documented proficiency in 64 genres, including horse riding, swimming, archery, and wrestling.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are no losers in sports, only the winners and learners. The language and spirit of sports are universal. Sports is not mere competition. Sports gives humanity an opportunity to expand,\u201d the PM said. \u201cThat is why records are celebrated globally. Sports also strengthen the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam<\/i>: One Earth, One Family, One Future,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
