Prachi is the first Indian athlete to compete in the Canoe event at the Paralympics. She made her debut in the canoeing sprint event in this year\u2019s Paralympic games.<\/p>\n<p>The first Indian Para canoe athlete performed exquisitely well in the heat 1 round of the Women\u2019s VL2 Canoe Sprint event. She finished in the fourth position in the first round. The 26-year-old who is from Bhopal took only 1 minute, 11 seconds to complete the Heat 1 round sprint. It was a massive display from the Para athlete who has paralysis below her waist. The canoe sprint event is played every year in the Paralympic Games. Emma Wiggs of Great Britain finished 1st who only took 58.084 seconds to complete the sprint. Prachi lags her (Emma Wiggs) by 13.014 seconds. Whereas, Republic of China\u2019s Paracanoe athlete Maria Nikiforova finished 2nd, and Canadian Para-athlete Brianna Hennessy finished 3rd in the Heat 1 qualifying round in the Women\u2019s LV2 Canoe Sprint event.
