The gold medal was won by Poland\u2019s Piotr Kosewicz who threw an effort of 20.02m which led him to win his event. Croatian Velimir Sandor clinched silver with a throw of 19.98m. Kumar started his final with an attempt of 17.46m but improved his effort later in the game and was able to set a medal-winning mark in his 5th and penultimate effort today.<\/p>\n<p>Kumar\u2019s second effort was 18.32m, his third effort was albeit below at 17.80m but Kumar improved in his next effort with a throw of 19.12m before the medal-winning fifth throw of 19.91m. He finished it off with another impressive throw of 19.81m. Kumar\u2019s personal best was an attempt of 19.29m and his season-best had been 18.52m.<\/p>\n<p>Nishad Kumar won the silver at the T47 Men\u2019s High Jump event. He cleared a distance of 2.06 metres and broke the Asian record. He, along with American Dallas Wise won the silver as they cleared the same distance. They were superseded by another American para-athlete Roderick Townsend who won the gold with a world record jump of 2.15m.
