Andy Murray\u2019s bid to win the Golden Slam for the third successive Games has come to an end. Murray along with his partner Joe Salisbury lost in the quarter-finals of men\u2019s doubles at the Tokyo Olympics.<\/p>\n
The three-time Grand Slam singles champion Murray and Salisbury entered a career-high ranking of three, previous year and they played their first competition together.<\/p>\n
Murray had been stunning with his partnership with Salisbury but couldn\u2019t assemble on a key of a set and a break. They failed to dominate as the opponent pair turned the match in their favour.<\/p>\n
The British set managed to break serve in the first game while Salisbury finalized the commencement set with a spontaneous volley on a Murray assistance game that retained the benefit while the pair in the second set again broke for 3-2 and centralized the motive for 4-2. Unfortunately, the pair lost the serve for 4-4 where their oppositions won the tie-break and were forced for a decider. It was the time for the Croatian pair in the first-to-10 match tie-break and Cilic with Dodig took the second of three match points.<\/p>\n
29-year-old Salisbury earned his maiden major title the previous year at the Australian Open in doubles.<\/p>\n
