His best bowling figures in the league stand at <strong>5\/18<\/strong>. With the bat, his contributions have been limited, scoring <strong>81 runs<\/strong> at an average of <strong>5.40<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Journey across franchises<\/h3>\n<p>Hasaranga made his IPL debut with <strong>Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)<\/strong> in 2021 and enjoyed his most successful season in <strong>IPL 2022<\/strong>, when he took <strong>26 wickets<\/strong>, finishing as the <strong>second-highest wicket-taker<\/strong> of the tournament. That season also saw him record his career-best figures of <strong>5\/18 against Sunrisers Hyderabad<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Following his stint with RCB from <strong>2021 to 2023<\/strong>, Hasaranga was part of the <strong>Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)<\/strong> squad in <strong>2024<\/strong> but missed the entire season due to <strong>chronic heel pain<\/strong>, which required an extended recovery period. He returned to the IPL with <strong>Rajasthan Royals in 2025<\/strong>, before being released ahead of the <strong>IPL 2026 auction<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In previous auctions, Hasaranga commanded big money, having been bought for <strong>Rs 10.75 crore by RCB in 2022<\/strong> and <strong>Rs 5.25 crore by RR in 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Role at Lucknow Super Giants<\/h3>\n<p>By securing Hasaranga for <strong>Rs 2 crore<\/strong>, LSG add an experienced international leg-spinner with a strong IPL track record, particularly in the middle overs.
