Australian all-rounder Cameron Green<\/strong> created history at the IPL 2026 auction<\/strong> after being bought by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for Rs 25.20 crore<\/strong>, making him the most expensive overseas player ever<\/strong> at an IPL auction and the third-most expensive player overall<\/strong> in league history.<\/p>\n

Green\u2019s record-breaking deal places him behind only Rishabh Pant<\/strong>, who was signed by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 27.00 crore in IPL 2025<\/strong>, and Shreyas Iyer<\/strong>, who joined Punjab Kings for Rs 26.75 crore<\/strong> in the same auction cycle. With this, Green overtook previous overseas records held by Mitchell Starc<\/strong> and Pat Cummins<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Green\u2019s IPL journey so far<\/h3>\n

Green made his IPL debut with Mumbai Indians in 2023<\/strong>, where he enjoyed a strong first season. He scored 452 runs<\/strong>, including an unbeaten 100 off 47 balls<\/strong>, and picked up six wickets<\/strong>, underlining his value as a genuine all-rounder.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the 2024 season, Green was traded to Royal Challengers Bengaluru<\/strong>. While his second season was more mixed, he still contributed 255 runs and 10 wickets across 13 matches<\/strong>, despite being briefly dropped mid-season.
