Indian opener Rohit Sharma moved six spots in the latest ICC Test batting rankings released today as he achieved a career-best ranking of No. 8.<\/p>\n
Rohit who had been brilliant against spin in the four-Test series against England at home is currently the second highest-ranked Indian Test batsman after skipper Virat Kohli who retained his fifth spot in the batting charts.<\/p>\n
Starting as a Test opener in 2019, Rohit Sharma impressed the audience with his skills in the four-Test series against England. After missing out in the first Test, Rohit hot a match-defining knock of 161 on a challenging pitch in the second Test in Chennai.<\/p>\n
Continuing his hot form, Rohit once again showed his ability to survive on difficult pitches as he hit a match-winning 61 in the pink-ball Test which ended in two days. He scored 298 runs in the three Tests against England.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Cheteshwar Pujara slipped two spots to No. 10 on the batting rankings. Kane Williamson continues to top the batting rankings followed by Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne and Joe Root.<\/p>\n
In the Test bowling rankings, off-spinner R.Ashwin moved up the ladder following his brilliant performances in the ongoing Test series. Ashwin jumped four places to No. 3 as he continues to be the only spinner in the top 10 of the Test bowling rankings.<\/p>\n
Ashwin has been phenomenal as he picked 13 wickets in three Test in Australia and 24 wickets in the ongoing Test series against England. Recently Ashwin became the second-fastest bowler to reach 400 Test wickets after he took the wicket of Jofra Archer on Day 2 of the third Test.<\/p>\n
Left-arm spinner Axar Patel who made his debut in the second Test match against England in Chennai moved 30 places to the 38th spot.<\/p>\n
