Amidst the criticism of the pitch in Ahmedabad, Nathan Lyon said that he would like to bring the pitch curator to Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).<\/p>\n
The Aussie off-spinner also hit back to the criticism with regards to the spin-friendly pitch at Narendra Modi Stadium, which saw England lose the third Test within two days.<\/p>\n
With this win, India crushed the hopes of England of qualifying for the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final with a 10-wicket win in the pink-ball Test. The match lasted for just 842 balls, thereby making it the shortest completed Test match since 1934.<\/p>\n
Nathan Lyon said he was awake all night watching the havoc and the drama created by fellow spinners, Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was up all night watching it. It was absolutely brilliant. I\u2019m thinking about bringing that curator out to the SCG. We play on seaming wickets around the world and get bowled out for 47, 60. Nobody ever says a thing (about the pitch).<\/p>\n
\u201cBut as soon as it starts spinning, everyone in the world seems to start crying about it. I don\u2019t get it. I\u2019m all for it. It was entertaining,\u201d AAP quoted Nathan Lyon.<\/p>\n
In addition to which Lyon also questioned the England team\u2019s line-up on a spin-friendly pitch. He hit back at England\u2019s strategy of playing only one specialist spinner- Jack Leach on a spin-friendly surface.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe best thing about this Test match that just passed is that England went in with four-seamers. That will do me. I don\u2019t need to say any more,\u201d said Nathan Lyon.<\/p>\n
