Mumbai Indians have named English pacer Luke Wood as the replacement for the injured Australian fast-bowler Jason Behrendorff for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old has bagged 147 wickets from 140 matches in the world of T20 cricket while also maintaining an economy rate of 8.45. The five-time IPL champions recruited him for INR 50 lakhs. Wood made an international debut in 2022 and made his first-class debut in 2014. He has an impressive franchise cricket background and previously competed in The Hundred for Trent Rockets.<\/p>\n

Wood was also one of the key player in Sylhet Strikers\u2019 wheel in the Bangladesh Premier League 2022-23 season, as took them to the final despite losing it. With Behrendorff sidelined, Mumbai Indians will have to pay the price. This is even more troubling since Suryakumar Yadav\u2019s status is unknown.<\/p>\n
