Pandya\u2019s journey from Gujarat Titans to Mumbai Indians has been a topic of interest, particularly since his notable leadership stint with GT, where he propelled the team to title glory in their inaugural IPL season and secured a runner-up position in the subsequent year.<\/p>\n
Pandya has been an IPL revelation; since he got picked up by GT, he thrived under Nehra\u2019s management. Signing Pandya paid dividends instantly in GT\u2019s inaugural season as they lifted the title and in the following year, they fell short and finished as runner-ups.<\/p>\n
Nehra disclosed that while he did not intervene in Pandya\u2019s decision to join Mumbai Indians, he acknowledged that he would have endeavored to retain him if it were any other franchise.<\/p>\n
\u201cI never tried to convince Pandya to stay back. As you play more, you gain experience. I could have stopped him had he gone to any other franchise. He (Pandya) played here for two years but he has gone to a team (MI), where he has played previously for 5-6 years,\u201d Nehra said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
