The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has decided to cancel all three Asian badminton tournaments due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These tournaments were scheduled to play this year, but officials didn\u2019t give permissions to carry it forward.<\/p>\n
Three Asian badminton tournaments which got cancelled on Wednesday includes \u2013 the Korea Open, scheduled to be held in August and September, the Macau Open, scheduled in November, and the Korea Masters has now also been cancelled after it was postponed earlier in June. The decision to axe all these tournaments was taken by Badminton World Federation (BWF) on Wednesday just to avoid the COVID-19 pandemic. Many badminton tournaments were also cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic. However, with the new cases of Delta variants is spreading throughout the World and the third wave is on the verge, the Federation thought it is better to keep this tournament away from starting for some more months.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe ongoing COVID-19 restrictions and complications left local organisers no choice but to cancel the tournaments,\u201d the Badminton World Federation said in their statement.<\/p>\n
However, not only badminton, but this pandemic has also ruined many other sports tournaments. Cricket, football, 2020 Tokyo Olympics, etc have also suffered from this COVID-19. Many players also tested positive while playing for their country in their respective games.
