Gujarat Titans head coach and former Indian pacer Ashish Nehra revealed that Hardik Pandya was appointed as captain over the phone ahead of their inaugural season last year.<\/p>\n
In a podcast show with host Jatin Sapru, Ashish stated how and why Hardik was appointed as GT skipper, despite having no experience as a skipper.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn the phone, I told him that he is going to be the captain, and he was ready for the captaincy,\u201d Nehra said on the Gujarat Titans podcast.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was pumped and if you have that kind of desire, then the sky is the limit for someone like Hardik,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe has don the captaincy but we knew that he will always be in the playing XI. He was ready to have a conversation with Gary Kirsten and Vikram Solanki. He had no ego. He knew that we all are here to help him.<\/p>\n
