Amidst the coronavirus hues, the cricket fans in United Kingdom rejoice as Channel 4 will telecast Test cricket on free-to-air television. All the four Tests will be live telecasted and the highlights too for those who can not make it at 4 am.<\/p>\n
Ian Katz, Channel 4\u2019s Chief Content Officer, said: \u201cThis is fantastic news for all cricket fans in the UK. It\u2019s been a long 16-year wait for the return of live Test cricket to free to air television but it couldn\u2019t have come at a better time.<\/p>\n
This is for the first time Test cricket will be live on free-to-air television since England\u2019s historic Ashes in 2005.<\/p>\n
Katz added, \u201cwhat better antidote to the lockdown blues than an England Test series in sunny India.\u201d<\/p>\n
Pete Andrews, Channel 4\u2019s Head of Sport and Head of Sports Rights Penny Mills initiated the negotiations and secured the deal.<\/p>\n
Pete said: \u201cWe\u2019re delighted to be showing live Test cricket on Channel 4 again and given the recent performances of both sides this series is poised to be a cracker. We\u2019re absolutely thrilled to have struck this deal with Star Sports.\u201d<\/p>\n
