Stokes was among the top potential players with the base price of \u20b92 crore<\/p>\n<p>The big-hitting left-hand batsman and dangerous right-arm seam bowler last played in the IPL in 2021, but he opted out of this year\u2019s edition due to injury.<\/p>\n<p>Stokes was instrumental in England\u2019s T20 World Cup victory in November and led the Test team to a historic series victory in Pakistan this month.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the teams were waiting for the English Test captain (Ben Stokes). There was a huge bidding war between Lucknow Super giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Chennai Super Kings came from nowhere as they joined the bidding war.
