James DeGale, a former world champion boxer, says his gold medal from the Olympics and MBE were stolen from his parent\u2019s home on Sunday night.<\/p>\n
The 35-year-old says the crime took place during England\u2019s defeat to Italy in the Euro 2020 final and has requested assistance in retrieving the items. The 2008 Beijing Olympics saw DeGale win the IBF middleweight gold \u2013 and he went on to hold the super-middleweight title twice.<\/p>\n
In February 2019, he retired after losing a point-by-point match to Chris Eubank Jr. at the O2 Arena.<\/p>\n
The alleged burglar is shown in a video he published on Instagram apparently walking up to his parent\u2019s house and then covering up their CCTV camera.<\/p>\n
DeGale wrote on Instagram: \u201cMy parent\u2019s house got burgled last night whilst our boys were trying to bring it home!<\/p>\n
\u201cHe took two of my prize possessions MY OLYMPIC GOLD MEDAL AND MY MBE.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey are worthless to anyone other than me and they are two achievements that I prize from my boxing career.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am gutted and need my medals back.<\/p>\n

In 2011, he lost to fellow Londoner George Groves after winning 25 fights, three losses, and one draw. Between 2010 and 2012, he held the European and British super-middleweight titles.
