This fine for slow over-rate comes after Rajasthan Royals failed to win the match, despite their team restricting the flamboyant Delhi Capitals for 154.<\/p>\n<p>According to the rule book of IPL, the minimum over-rate to be achieved by the fielding team in Matches is 14.11 over per hour, and in an uninterrupted match, the 20th over shall commence within 1 hour and 30 minutes of the play (including timeouts). This offence is registered by the Umpire and is then passed on to the match referee to announce his verdict as well as the severity of the punishment. A captain is only allowed to have one match under his belt where he\u2019s not fined for the slow over-rate. If the offence is repeated, as it is in the case of Sanju Samson, then the captain shall be fined from his match fees. Promulgating the same, BCCI has put out a statement in which they said: \u201cAs this was the team\u2019s second offence of the season under the IPL\u2019s Code of Conduct relating to the minimum over-rate offences\u2026 Sanju Samson was fined 24 Lakhs,\u201d reports, hindustantimes.com<\/p>\n<p>It has been a double whammy for Samson who earlier played a belter of an innings of 70 in 53 balls and remained not out, only to see his team lose by a gigantic margin of 33 runs. And later had to lose 24 lakhs due to match fees. After KKR\u2019s match against MI, their captain Eoin Morgan is also under the caution of slow over rates and will have to walk on eggshells for the rest of the tournament.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Sanju Samson has been fined 12 Lakh for slow over-rate against <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/PBKS?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#PBKS<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Johns.
