Ford has dedicated its resources to the 2026 Formula 1 season, joining forces with Red Bull to supply engines to the reigning champions under new sustainable regulations. The partnership signifies Ford\u2019s entrance into the sport while Honda also returns with Aston Martin.<\/p>\n
Red Bull currently utilizes a Honda-based engine after Honda\u2019s departure in 2021. Developing a new engine from scratch is a lengthy process, and Ford is already fully engaged in the project. Mark Rushbrook, Ford\u2019s global director of motorsport, expressed satisfaction with the partnership and their collaborative progress.<\/p>\n
Despite the 2026 deadline approaching, there is still much work to be done. Both Ford and Red Bull are fully committed to winning and have deployed all available resources for success in Formula 1.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe partnership with Red Bull for powertrains, it\u2019s been fantastic,\u201d Ford\u2019s global director of motorsport, Mark Rushbrook told\u00a0Speedcafe.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe had some initial ideas of where we would have tech transfer and the opportunity to contribute to that programme which was already, I think, a good list.<\/p>\n
\u201cNot necessarily every day, but every discussion and every visit, we identify more and more areas of opportunity, so we\u2019re really happy with it. It\u2019s progressing very well.<\/p>\n
\u201c2026, while to many it may seem like it\u2019s a long way away, for that programme it\u2019s not very far away and still clearly a lot of work to do.<\/p>\n
