Max Verstappen showcased his mastery of wet conditions in Montreal as he claimed pole position for the third consecutive Grand Prix. The Dutch driver\u2019s exceptional lap time of 1:25.858 outpaced his nearest competitor, Nico Hulkenberg, by over a second. However, Hulkenberg\u2019s penalty for exceeding the speed limit during a red flag period pushed him down to fifth on the grid for the race.<\/p>\n

Several drivers faced grid penalties for impeding others during Qualifying, including Carlos Sainz, Yuki Tsunoda, and Lance Stroll, all of whom received three-place grid penalties. Despite the penalties, Fernando Alonso earned a spot alongside Verstappen on the front row, while Lewis Hamilton and George Russell took third and fourth place respectively in their Mercedes cars.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, it was a disappointing session for Charles Leclerc, Sainz, and Sergio Perez, who found themselves starting from the tenth, 11th, and 12th positions respectively.<\/p>\n
