The Brooklyn Nets upset the Atlanta Hawks 117-108 on Wednesday night, with Kevin Durant scoring 32 points and leading the spurt that blew start the game going into the third quarter.
\nDurant scored 13 points in a 20-4 third-quarter outburst that helped the Nets head into the fourth quarter with a 16-point lead. Overall, he had seven rebounds and five assists. The Nets went 4-2 on their homestand, with Joe Harris scoring 18 points on six 3-pointers and James Harden adding 16 points and 11 assists. De\u2019Andre Hunter led the Hawks with 26 points, making all six 3-pointers. Trae Young finished with 21 points, 10 assists, and 9 rebounds while shooting just 6 for 22 from the field.
\nAfter a disappointing start, the Nets have begun to resemble the club that was so successful last year. They hit a franchise-record 65.3 per cent of their shots in a 117-91 rout of Detroit on Sunday, then made 22 3-pointers on Wednesday, their most since a franchise-record 27 last Feb. 15 at Sacramento. Nets who are even without Kyrie a championship-contending team but the Kyrie\/Vaccine problem still stands in their way and if he returns he showed what he can do as he became the 9th player last year to average 50% from the field, 40% from the three-point line and 90% from the free throw.<\/p>\n
The Hawks who made the Eastern Conference finals last year are having a slow start to their season mainly due to Trae Young adjusting to the new allowance of physicality by the referees.<\/p>\n
