Aston Martin had sent in a request to review after Vettel was disqualified in the Hungarian Grand Prix that lost him a second-place finish. The German driver was disqualified due to a technicality after his team were unable to extract the required 1.0-litre fuel sample after the race had ended. Aston Martin were only able to get 0.3-litre fuel out of car number 5 falling way below the required amount.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Aston Martin have failed in their bid to have Sebastian Vettel's disqualification from the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/HungarianGP?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#HungarianGP<\/a> reviewed by the stewards<\/p>\n<p>But they could still continue with their appeal, which is a separate process<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ciKaBzdLTD\">https:\/\/t.co\/ciKaBzdLTD<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Formula 1 (@F1) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/F1\/status\/1424810587482165253?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 9, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The team had initially believed to have 1.44-litres of fuel remaining in the car post-race according to the telemetry data shown by the car. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>It was said that Aston Martin had discovered a malfunction in their fuel system that failed to contribute to the circumstances that led to the fuel not being pumped into the tank where the FIA could not access it or which would have resulted in the injection of fuel during the race itself. This part remains to be unclear.<\/p>\n<p>The Silverstone based team had launched two right to review requests with the stewards and the appeal against the decision.<\/p>\n<p><span>They had requested to review the \u201cnew <\/span><span>significant evidence\u201c which was unavailable to them earlier. This was an analysis of more than 100 channels of fuel system-related data.
