Paine addressed a press conference on Tuesday, a day after the match, and expressed his apology for his actions. Paine was heard calling Ashwin di******, and get thrashed on social media from the Indian fans.

“International cricket at the moment with the hub life and in the bubble you have a fair bit of time to yourself and last night for me was one of those moments to sit back and reflect on the Test match. I think it was important to address some things from yesterday. I want to apologize for the way I went about things yesterday. I’m someone who prides myself on the way I lead this team and yesterday was a poor reflection of that.”

“My leadership wasn’t good enough, I let the pressure of the game get to me, it affected my mood and then from there affected my performance. Yesterday when I came off the ground my reflection was purely on my wicketkeeping. Sitting back last night and reflecting on the whole game, I think I said to our players yesterday I’ve had a really poor game as a leader, not so much as a captain but certainly as a leader.

“I’m a captain who wants to enjoy the game. I’m a captain who wants to play the game with a smile on their face and yesterday I fell short of my expectations and our team standards. So I’m human, I want to apologize for the mistakes that I made yesterday. It’s certainly not a reflection of the way I want to lead this team. We’ve set high standards over the last 18 months and yesterday was a bit of a blip on the radar and something that I felt I needed to come out and address,” said Paine.

When a reporter asked are the stump-mics an invasion of privacy? Paine brushed it away.

“Yesterday unfortunately it did take away from it. but at the same time, we fully understand that they are on all the time. Was it the stump mics that took away from the Test or me? It was probably my behavior. I know – for some silly reason you forget at times they’re on. but I need to be better than that. I know they’re on. We’ve seen plenty of instances in the past when you can get stuck into the batsman and do it in a way that’s a lot better than the way I did it yesterday. we understand that. it’s part of the game, it brings so much more to people’s loungerooms by them being able to listen to what’s going on in the middle. we’ve signed up for that, we know that and my behavior has to be better than that,” he responded.

This was Paine’s second apology in 3rd match, he had already been fined 15% of the match fees for using lousy words when the umpire gave a decision against the favor of Australia. Earlier a chat between Ashwin and Paine went viral, where Paine tried to sledge Ashwin “I can’t wait to bring you at Gabba- Ash” to which Ashwin strongly replied “ Just like we want to get you to India, that will be your last series”

After the final day of the 3rd test match in Sydney Cricket ground, Australian captain Tim Paine has apologized for…

[2
1282,210
post-1755","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-cricket","tag-sydney-cricket-ground","tag-test-match
["GET
