The Australian Grand Prix is cancelled for a second year in succession due to logistical problems caused by the COVID-19. The organisers of Formula One have planned on the 23-race season. This race season will be held on November 21, also, hit roadblocks over Australia\u2019s requirements for overseas arrivals to undergo 14 days of mandatory quarantine. The 2021 Australian MotoGP was also called off.<\/p>\n
The Australian Grand Prix Corporation chairman Paul Little said, \u201cWe appreciate the challenge Australia faces with current international travel restrictions and the importance of vaccinations.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Formula One already had faced a problem from its traditional season-opening slot in March to November, sandwiched between the Brazilian Grand Prix and the inaugural race in Saudi Arabia at the beginning of December.<\/p>\n
While Australia has just experienced 30,000 cases since the pandemic began also it is badly lagging in vaccinations. The decision to call off the tournament could have ramifications for tennis\u2019s Australian Open along with the 2022 season\u2019s opening Grand Slam tournament due to begin in Melbourne in January.<\/p>\n
The Victor state Sports Minister Martin Pakula said, \u201d I\u2019m very confident that the Australian Open will proceed and I\u2019m very confident that next year\u2019s Formula One will proceed.
