World\u2019s No. 1 Tennis player Novak Djokovic will not be seen playing at the Australia Open as his appeal against deportation order got dismissed. Novak Djokovic\u2019s visa was rejected on public interest grounds. Three Federal court judges confirmed the decision made by the immigration minister to dismiss the Serb\u2019s visa immediately.<\/p>\n
The decision follows as, Novak Djokovic, unvaccinated against COVID-19, will stay in Melbourne in detention until he gets deported. The order also states a ban on returning to Australia for three years.<\/p>\n
The Minister justifies, that they rejected the visa on immediate action as Djokovic\u2019s unvaccinated presence in Australia can be detrimental. He can be a harm to the health and good order of the Australian public and perhaps ineffective to efforts at getting vaccinated by others in the country.<\/p>\n
The visa was originally cancelled at Melbourne Airport on Jan 6 after he came to participate in the year\u2019s first Grand Slam.<\/p>\n
A Border Official had dismissed the visa after confirming that according to Australia\u2019s conditions, Novak Djokovic doesn\u2019t qualify for a medical exemption for unvaccinated visitors.<\/p>\n
