20 time Grand Slam winner, Novak Djokovic is set to get released from the immigration detention, when the Australian Federal court commanded the government to pay the Serbian\u2019s cost, also returning all his belongings and passport within 30 minutes and release him immediately.<\/p>\n
This hearing came in view, when Novak Djokovic landed in Melbourne at around 11:30 pm local time on Wednesday evening from Dubai, holding the visa which technically didn\u2019t permit \u201cmedical exemptions\u201d for being unvaccinated. The reports suggest that Djokovic and team members presented the wrong type of visa which as a result delayed and disturbed the nine-time Australian Open champion.<\/p>\n
Previously, the Serb was granted to stay in Melbourne until today\u2019s hearing outcomes. On Monday, after a long hearing, it came in favour of the top-seeded player and the court decided to immediately release the tennis star. Meanwhile, the immigration minister still holds onto another visa cancellation procedure for Djokovic.<\/p>\n
Judge Kelly revealed that it was \u201cunreasonable\u201c for Australia Border Force officials to question the player on Thursday morning and cancel his visa, even after having agreed to give him time until 8:30 am to talk to the officials and reply to the visa case.<\/p>\n
Novak is still not guaranteed if he will appear for the first Grand Slam of the year and the temporary detention is still on the verge as Christopher Tran ( Novak\u2019s lawyer) suggests. The immigration minister, Alex Hawke, may still intervene and cancel World Number One\u2019s visa as the reports in The Guardian suggests.<\/p>\n
