British professional Andy Murray has always spoken for the players. He was the one who came in support of the teenage sensation and US Open 2021 champion Emma Raducanu and now he had to say something for the World Number One.<\/p>\n
The Briton said in a concerning way that all the other players are outraged by the situation also, whatever conditions surrounding the Serbian\u2019s controversial barred entry for the Australian Open was not promising for the world of tennis. Murray hopes that Djokovic is Okay with everything he has been facing since the announcement of his participation in the first Grand Slam of the year.<\/p>\n
Murray stated concern for the Serb, the tennis world that the situation is not encouraging the Tennis fraternity and everyone involved in it.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think everyone is shocked by it, to be honest,\u201d said Murray as quoted by local media in Australia.<\/p>\n
\u201cI hope that Novak is OK. I know him well, and I\u2019ve always had a good relationship with him and I hope that he\u2019s Ok.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s really not good for tennis at all, and I don\u2019t think it good for anyone involved,\u201d the former World Number One further said, reported Reuters.<\/p>\n
Nine times Australian Open champion, Djokovic had previously criticised mandatory vaccines to participate in the tournament and kept his vaccination status private as well. Although it\u2019s not just the Serb who spoke against it, but also Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas who had said that he respects the decision of Djokovic to keep his vaccination status private.<\/p>\n
The top-seeded player has caught up in controversy since he announced that he has been granted a medical exemption to participate in Australia after which, his visa was cancelled.
