The number 2 player in the world wasted no time after the delay and showed his class that he earned during the Grand Slam title last month. She was able to get into the main draw as a lucky loser. She was defeated in the final round of qualifying and was only able to get in when Nadia Podoroska was out due to a thigh injury. Maia was able to get bye for the first round and then was up against Mayir Sherif in the second round and was able to come with a win.
