He finished as a runner up at Flushing Medows against Rafa Nadal in 2019 and at Melbourne Park against Djokovic whom he will be facing in the upcoming Grand Slam final for the US Open title.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In the second set down a break, Medvedev looked to be in trouble but seemed to be not losing hope as Auger-Aliassime failed twice to clinch a set point in the ninth game.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cSecond set defined the match because I was really close to lose it,\u201d said Medvedev as reported by Reuters after his win. \u201cIt turned the match around. I think he started doubting,\u201d he added\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cAgainst a player like that, you don\u2019t really have room for mistakes, room for losing your focus, which I did at the end of the second,\u201d said Auger-Aliassime after the semifinal bout.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This was the first Grand Slam semifinal for <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Auger-Aliassime at the age of 21.
