As the United States of America still gets affected by the global coronavirus pandemic, the organizers of the upcoming US Open have said that this decision was strictly taken and made after having a meeting with the New York Health officials, as the ongoing pandemic has affected the entire globe, with severe precautions and safety.<\/p>\n<p>United States Tennis Association has said in the following statement \u201cAfter consulting with local health authorities and the US Open medical team, it was determined that it was the right decision to ensure the health and safety of all, as they will take care of all the safety precautions and ensure that the tournament kicks off with a full swing.\u201d From 30th August, the officials are allowing full 100% capacity seating from the main draw event starting at Flushing Meadows.<\/p>\n<p>The organisers of the US Open also added by saying due to COVID-19 pandemic protocols and rules, there is been a severe lack of indoor space at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Cente which will be felt during the qualifying rounds as the greatest players will be there on-site. They later also added by saying many of the players facilities like dining, training and recreational facilities have also been removed outdoors towards the grounds of the NTC into public areas for the week of Qualifying.<\/p>\n<p>US Open have also officially announced a statement by saying \u201cAfter consulting with local health authorities and the US Open medical team, it was determined that the 2021 Qualifying Tournament will not be open for fans to attend.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">After consulting with local health authorities and the US Open medical team, it was determined that the 2021 Qualifying Tournament will not be open for fans to attend<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 US Open Tennis (@usopen) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/usopen\/status\/1425896619837476877?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 12, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>While also deciding to ban spectators from seeing the qualifying rounds they also added \u201cWith that, there is not enough room to allow fans to access the site while still ensuring player and fan safety,\u201d as it kicks off from 24-27th August.
